The sky in May is doing something specific to water signs. It is not asking you to feel more. You already feel everything. It is asking you to do something with what you feel.

Something I have noticed about water signs over the years is that they are almost never unaware of what they are feeling. The feelings are always there. Sometimes they are very loud. Sometimes they are running quietly in the background like a tab that never closes. But they are there.
What water signs sometimes struggle with is what to do with all of that. Whether to express it or protect it or process it alone or share it with someone who might not understand it. Whether the feeling is information or just weather. Whether to trust it or wait for it to pass.
May 2026 is asking all three water signs to stop waiting for the feeling to pass and start treating it as information.
Cancer has Jupiter in their sign right now which is one of the most genuinely supportive transits of the year for them. Scorpio has Pluto retrograde in Aquarius asking deep questions about power and transformation from the inside. And Pisces has Neptune gone from their sign after fourteen years and is still figuring out what clarity actually feels like.
Three water signs. Three very different Mays. All of them pointing at the same thing: what you are feeling right now is trying to tell you something. Pay attention.
CANCER — Jupiter is in your sign and it is the most supportive transit you have had in twelve years
I want to start with something Cancer genuinely deserves to hear: May is a good month for you. Not in a vague everything will work out way. In a specific, astrologically real way.
Jupiter has been in Cancer since June 2025 and it stays until June 30th when it moves into Leo. That means May is one of your last full months with Jupiter in your sign and I want to make sure you are actually using it rather than just surviving it the way Cancer sometimes survives good things by waiting for the catch.
Jupiter in your own sign is a once in twelve years transit. It expands everything your sign is connected to. Home, family, emotional foundations, the sense of belonging and being nurtured and nurturing others. It brings opportunity in the areas of life that matter most to you. It makes you more visible in a warm way, more magnetic in the way that draws in the right people rather than just any people.

The question I always ask Cancer during a Jupiter in their sign period is: are you actually receiving what Jupiter is trying to give you, or are you finding reasons it does not count? Cancer can be very good at deflecting good things. At deciding the timing is not right or the person is not quite trustworthy enough or the opportunity has some hidden catch that they need to investigate before they can relax into it. Jupiter does not wait forever. It moves. And when it leaves your sign in June the energy shifts in ways that are less personal and less warm.
Venus moved into Cancer on May 18th which adds social and relational warmth to the Jupiter energy already in your sign. Venus in Cancer is genuinely lovely for this sign. It activates the kind of connection Cancer does best, deep, warm, rooted in genuine care rather than surface pleasantness. If there are relationships you have been wanting to deepen or conversations you have been wanting to have from a place of real vulnerability, the second half of May has real support for that.
There is also a Full Moon in Scorpio that opened May on May 1st which illuminated your fifth house of creativity, pleasure and self expression. Something about what brings you joy might have come into focus at the very start of the month. Not in a dramatic way. More like something quietly surfacing that you already knew but had not quite let yourself acknowledge.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 31st lands in an area of your chart connected to health, daily routine, and the way you structure your everyday life. It might bring something into focus about how you are spending your time and energy and whether the daily life you have built actually supports the emotional life you want. Cancer can build very nurturing environments for other people and quietly neglect building one for themselves. This Full Moon is asking about that.
One caution for May: Mars moves into Taurus on May 18th which makes a helpful earth trine to Cancer, good for getting things done in a slow and steady way. But on May 25th Mars squares Pluto retrograde, which can bring power struggles or intensity to situations that were previously manageable. Watch that last week of May for situations where someone or something is pushing harder than necessary. You do not have to meet force with force. But you also do not have to absorb it quietly.
Cancer advice for May: stop finding reasons that Jupiter’s gifts do not count. Let Venus in your sign bring people closer rather than keeping them at a careful distance. Use the Full Moon at the end of the month to look honestly at whether your daily life is actually nourishing you. And remember that Jupiter leaves your sign at the end of June. You have one more month of this. Use it.
SCORPIO — Pluto retrograde in Aquarius is asking about power and the Full Moon in your sign opened this month with something to say
May opened with a Full Moon in Scorpio on May 1st. I want to start there because I think it sets the tone for Scorpio’s entire month.
Full Moons in your own sign happen once a year and they illuminate. They bring what has been submerged to the surface. For Scorpio, a sign that lives in the depths, that spends a lot of time knowing things they do not say and feeling things they do not show, a Full Moon in your sign is the one time a year the depth becomes visible. Not necessarily to other people. But to you.
What surfaced for you at the start of May? What did you find yourself knowing more clearly than you had before? What was already true but became undeniable? That is your material for the rest of the month. Scorpio Full Moons do not bring small revelations. They bring the real ones.

Pluto went retrograde in Aquarius on May 6th. Pluto is your ruling planet in modern astrology and its retrograde always affects Scorpio more personally than other signs. When Pluto is direct it tends to transform things around you. When it goes retrograde the transformation moves inward. The questions it is asking in retrograde phase are the internal ones: where are you holding power over others as a way of protecting yourself from being vulnerable? Where are you giving your power away as a way of avoiding responsibility? What would it mean to actually stand in your own power without using it as a weapon or abandoning it out of fear?
These are Scorpio questions. You are more comfortable with them than most signs would be. But comfortable does not mean easy. Even Scorpio can avoid the deepest version of these questions for years at a time.
Jupiter in Cancer is making a trine to Scorpio right now. A trine from Jupiter is genuinely good news and I do not want it to get lost in all the Pluto intensity. Jupiter in Cancer is warm and expansive and it is making a supportive aspect to your sign through May. The area of your chart it is activating is likely connected to your beliefs, your philosophy, the bigger story you are telling yourself about your life. If there is a narrative you have been living inside that is smaller or darker than it needs to be, Jupiter trine is gently making space for a larger one.
Saturn in Aries is making a square to Scorpio through May. Saturn squares are not comfortable. They create friction and obstacles and the feeling of pushing against something that will not move. For Scorpio the square from Aries is likely showing up in areas related to how you take up space, how you initiate, how you lead. Saturn is asking whether the way you exercise your considerable power is actually aligned with your values or whether it has become a habit that is no longer serving you or the people around you.
Scorpio advice for May: take what the Full Moon showed you at the start of the month seriously. Let Pluto retrograde ask its real question about power rather than deflecting into the easier version of it. Use the Jupiter trine to expand the story you are telling yourself about your life. And look honestly at what Saturn square is pointing at in terms of how you use your energy and authority.
PISCES — Neptune has been gone for four months and you are still learning what clarity feels like
I wrote about this for Pisces last month and I want to come back to it because I think it is the most significant ongoing story for this sign in 2026 and it deserves more than one mention.
Neptune left Pisces in January after fourteen years. Fourteen years of the planet of dreams, dissolution, spiritual depth and emotional permeability sitting in your sign amplifying everything you already are. The empathy. The intuition. The sensitivity to other people’s pain. The tendency to absorb the atmosphere of whatever room you walk into. The blurring of boundaries between yourself and everything around you. Neptune in your sign turned all of that up to a level that most other signs would find impossible to sustain. For Pisces it was just life.
Now Neptune is in Aries. And the amplification has stopped.

Four months in, I am hearing from a lot of Pisces placements that May still feels strange in a way that is hard to name. Not bad necessarily. Just different. Quieter in some ways. Sharper in others. Like someone turned the bass down and now you can hear things in the music you could not hear before, but you also kind of miss the bass.
The clarity is real. It is also disorienting because Pisces has not operated in this much clarity in a very long time. Decisions that used to feel impossibly foggy are becoming more available. Relationships that used to feel blurred at the edges are coming into focus. The intuition is still there, it did not go anywhere, but it is sharper now and more specific rather than the diffuse atmospheric knowing that Neptune in your sign produced.
The North Node is still in Pisces until late July. This means there is still karmic energy in your sign asking you to step more fully into something. The completion and growth the nodes have been pushing you toward is still active. Whatever you have been working on in terms of your own development, your healing, your willingness to be seen, it is still the right work right now.
Saturn is in Aries making an opposition to Pisces. I wrote about this last month too but it is ongoing and worth naming again. Saturn opposing your sign is asking for structure where you would prefer flow. For commitment where you would prefer to keep things open. For the concrete version of things you have been keeping beautifully vague. This is uncomfortable for Pisces. It is also necessary. The spiritual depth Neptune gave you over fourteen years needs somewhere to land. Saturn opposite is the planet asking: where is the form? Where does all of this feeling and knowing and sensitivity actually show up in the world in a way that other people can encounter?
Jupiter in Cancer is making a trine to Pisces right now. Two water signs, a trine from the most beneficial planet in the chart. This is genuinely lovely energy for Pisces. It is expanding something in the area of your chart connected to home, roots, emotional nourishment, the people who feel like family. If there is something you want to build or deepen in that area of your life, May has real support for it. Let it be bigger than you planned.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 31st lands in the area of your chart connected to career, public role, and how you are seen in the world. For a sign that often prefers to work behind the scenes and finds too much visibility uncomfortable, this Full Moon might bring some discomfort. It is asking Pisces to look at whether they are making themselves smaller in professional or public areas of life than they actually need to be. The sensitivity that makes Pisces retreat from visibility is real. But there is a version of visibility that does not require pretending to be less sensitive than you are. The Full Moon is pointing at that version.
Pisces advice for May: stop treating the clarity as loss. It is not the absence of Neptune’s depth. It is depth you can now actually see and use. Let Saturn opposite push you toward the concrete form of something. Use the Jupiter trine to build something real in your home and emotional foundations. And let the Full Moon at the end of the month ask its honest question about visibility without immediately finding a reason the answer is too much.
What all three water signs share this month
Cancer Scorpio and Pisces are all in a period where the emotional information they carry is asking to be used rather than just felt.
Cancer has Jupiter expanding their emotional world and Venus warming their relationships, and the invitation is to actually receive what is being offered rather than hold it at arm’s length. Scorpio has a Full Moon that surfaced something real at the start of the month and Pluto retrograde asking what to do with it. Pisces has clarity arriving after fourteen years of beautiful fog and the challenge of learning to trust what they can now see.
Water signs feel everything. That is not the issue and it was never the issue. The question is always what happens next. What do you do with the feeling once you have it? Do you express it or protect it or process it alone or share it with someone who might surprise you by understanding?
May is asking all three of you to do something with it. Not to manage it or contain it or wait for it to become more convenient. To actually use the emotional intelligence you carry — which is genuinely extraordinary — in the service of building something real. A deeper connection. A braver conversation. A version of your life that reflects what you actually feel rather than what is easier to show.
Water does not stay still. It finds its level. It moves toward what it needs. May is asking all three water signs to let themselves do that.
