A couple of years ago I was sitting in a cafe putting off a decision I had been avoiding for weeks.

I looked at my phone to check the time. 10:10. I put it down. A few minutes later I paid for my coffee. The total was ten pounds and ten pence. I walked outside and the bus in front of me had 1010 on its display.

I sat on a bench for a few minutes. Not dramatically. Just quietly. Then I went home and made the decision I had been avoiding.

I am not saying the number made me do it. I am saying it created a pause in the loop of reasons-not-to that had been running in my head for weeks. And in that pause something became clear.

That is 1010 in a nutshell.

What does 1010 mean

The number 1 in numerology is about new beginnings. Starting fresh. The self standing at the beginning of something. The number 0 is about potential. The space before something exists. Infinite possibility.

1010 puts them together: start, potential, start, potential. The pattern keeps repeating. It is not just a new beginning. It is a new beginning where everything is still possible.

When does 1010 usually appear

In my experience 1010 shows up at very specific moments. Not randomly. At thresholds.

Right before you make a decision you have been avoiding. In the first days of something new that you are not sure about yet. When an opportunity has arrived but you are finding reasons to wait for a better moment. When you are about to talk yourself out of something that has not even been given a proper chance.

I talked to someone last year who had been seeing 1010 for three weeks straight while deciding whether to apply for something she had wanted to do for years. She kept finding reasons to wait. The timing was not right. She was not ready. She would do it next time.

She applied. She got in. She messaged me from the first week to say she could not believe she had almost not done it.

I hear versions of this story a lot with 1010. The number tends to appear right before people either take a step or find a reason not to. It does not guarantee anything. It just keeps showing up until you notice the door.

What 1010 is not

I want to be straight about this because I think angel number content can get a bit overwhelming with promises.

1010 is not a guarantee that something will work out perfectly. It is not telling you the timing is perfect or that you cannot fail. Starting something new always involves risk. The number does not remove the risk.

What it does is point at the moment you are in and say: this is a real beginning. Your thoughts here matter. Stay conscious of what you are creating with the way you are thinking about this.

That is it. That is the whole message. It sounds simple. In practice it is actually quite hard because most people at the start of something new are running fear stories in their heads. 1010 is asking you to notice those stories and choose differently if you can.

Not fake positivity. Not pretending the risk is not there. Just staying genuinely open to the possibility that it might work instead of having already decided it probably will not.

What to do when you keep seeing 1010

A few practical things that I actually do and have found useful.

First, notice what you were thinking right before you saw it. Not with anxiety. Just with curiosity. Was the thought about moving toward something or away from something? That is useful information.

Second, write down the thing you are on the threshold of. Not the reasons for and against. Just the thing itself. Name it clearly on paper. Making something real and specific on paper makes it harder for fear to keep it vague and therefore more manageable.

Third, pick the smallest possible first step. Not the whole thing. One step that counts as actually beginning. Send the first email. Have the first conversation. Make the first move. 1010 is not asking you to have it all figured out. It is asking you to start.

One more thing

The number is not magic. It does not create the opportunity. The opportunity was already there. 1010 just taps you on the shoulder and points.
